injection moulded plastic inlet manifold
G.T. Tools supplies tooling for the world’s major automotive manufacturers including Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes, Toyota, Mazda, Renault-Nissan, VW & Audi, Volvo and MG Rover.

The company played a significant part in developing a plastic inlet manifold now used in most of today’s cars. G.T. Tools worked closely with the Ford Motor Company and Siemens to develop a manifold, the benefits of which were part of the on-going drive to make vehicles lighter and more efficient.

G.T. Tools was one of the first toolmakers to produce a tool for a plastic inlet manifold. Originally using the soluble core process, the tooling for both the injection mould and the soluble core tool were produced using the company’s comprehensive in-house facilities at its modern premises. Subsequent generations of this manifold saw the introduction of a vibration welded two-piece manifold with cost effective additions.

G.T. Tools, together with Siemens Automotive Services (Telford), pioneered the design and subsequent manufacture of a multi-part de-activation manifold for the Ford Motor Company.

All these manifold developments have enabled cheaper, lighter and more efficient products to be manufactured for the automotive market.
