G. T. Tools invest for the future
G.T. Tools has invested in a new DepoSpeed 1011 High Speed Machining Center. This investment enables the company to produce accurate quality tools in faster lead times than their main competitors, and at the same time doubles their machining capacity.

As part of its continuous improvement programme G.T. Tools researched the market to find the most efficient capital equipment which would complement and extend their existing facilities. The machine from Depo-FHT, based in Leamington Spa, was chosen as it met the company’s criteria and offered other benefits including a bespoke training package for G.T. Tools’ machinists.

The new machining center will reduce bottlenecks in the production cycle, as it has the ability to pick out details that would previously require spark erosion and to generate surface finishes, reducing two time-consuming manual operations. The system’s ability to produce 3-dimensional mould forms in considerably less time offers a cost-effective solution.
The DEPO SPEED1011 has already generated enquiries from new customers who are looking for high quality mould tools. Existing customers are also benefiting from the efficiencies this new machine brings to the company’s production cycle process.

Hereward Tresidder, Managing Director of G.T. Tools, said ‘In today’s competitive market place you must invest and continuously seek to improve the way you work. The addition of this new DepoSpeed 1011 Machining Centre is part of our strategy to remain a key player in the mould and die toolmaking industry’.
